FOR TEACHING ARTISTS

Job Summary:

Destination Theatre is looking for experienced teaching artists for our musical theatre, technical theatre, and playwriting camps (K-12). Teaching Artists are practicing professional artists with the skills and understanding of an educator. We think real-world experience in different avenues of theatre enables educators to enrich curriculum with their own artistic knowledge. Focus of programs include:

  • Acting/Directing

  • Music

  • Dance

  • Playwriting

  • Technical Theatre

Desired Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a professional performer, designer or technician in local, regional or national theatre/film.

  • Experience performing, designing and/or devising theatre.

  • Experience directing or coaching Grades K-12.

Skills + Qualifications:

  • Skilled in leading group warmups, ensemble based activities, implementing set curriculums.

  • Professional experience in a specific avenue of theatre (directing, acting, music, dance, etc.)

  • Able to solve problems quickly and creatively

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment

  • Passion for teaching budding artists.

FOR COUNSELORS

Job Summary:

Destination Theatre is looking for a qualified team of Counselors for our musical theatre, technical theatre, and playwriting camps (K-12). Counselors are staff with an educational background in theatre that offer guidance and structure to campers as well as extra classroom support to teaching artists.

Focus of programs include:

  • Acting/Directing

  • Music

  • Dance

  • Playwriting

  • Technical Theatre

Desired Experience:

  • Experience as a performer/technician in educational or professional theatre.

  • Experience working with children.

  • Stage management experience a plus.

Skills + Qualifications:

  • Organized individual who can keep track of group schedules

  • Skilled in leading group warmups and ensemble-based activities

  • Supportive classroom help for teachers

  • Encouraging personality towards campers

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment

  • Passion for teaching budding artists.
